Your physical health plays an very important part in your overall emotional, mental and spiritual well being.
Decades ago, as an Intensive Care and Emergency Room nurse, I realized I wanted to be on the healing end of the Medical System. I thought if I could help people stay healthy through good nutrition I could keep them away from much of the pain and suffering I could see was preventable through better health practices.
I began to study every thing I could find about food, nutrition and supplements. I found the best mentor possible, an amazing healer who had an outstanding record for helping individuals recover their health, Dr. Bernard Jensen DC. He had a healing clinic in the San Diego area. I had read 25 of his books before I even met him.
Dr. Jensen was 80 years old when I trained with him. He was an inspired and brilliant man. Training with him was life changing for me personally.
In finishing my PhD, the research I chose was focused on Motivational Psychology as applied to Nutrition. I used a testing tool that measured carotinoid antioxidants at a cellular level. It became clear to me that if a person could have a measurement that could help them see that increasing their intake of fruit and vegetables actually improved their antioxidant score they would be more motivated to continue on with positive improvements in food choices. It did.
Oftentimes, individuals consciously know what they "should" eat but struggle with feeling "drawn" to less quality nutrition. As humans oftentimes we eat for reasons other than hunger. We eat when we are tired, bored, frustrated, it looks good, it is the time to eat or to mask uncomfortable feelings, like loneliness. This is why hypnosis is extremely effective in helping us shift our relationship with food and become more aware of the feelings that the food may be masking.
Because we act from our feeling or subconscious mind when we shift our relationship in how we look at and feel about food, the improved choices come naturally. This is true even if food and weight has been a life long struggle.
Our goal can be to listen to our body, eat only when we are hungry, feel drawn to the foods that are colorful and nutrient dense, find more joy in what we choose and feel satisfied with appropriate proportions.
Our bodies physical health influences all the other aspects of us our mental, emotional and energy and soul bodies.
